This work is premised on the assumption that the time that has transpired since the original exodus after the Cuban Revolution has been sufficient to establish a definable Cuban American literature. This volume, which includes 29 authors writing in Spanish who have lived in the United States since at least 1970, is wide ranging in its aspirations and provides samples of the two fundamental components of Cuban American literature.
