Sinopsis del Libro

Parece ser que la política histórica latinoamericana ha logrado idolatrar tanto la figura del general, que hasta cierto punto se hace imposible para la mayoría de los historiadores locales, criticar al personaje histórico de la referencia. Aunque en Latinoamérica parezca imposible mirar la heroica figura de Bolívar bajo otra óptica, García Márquez1 se atreve a presentar al libertador en su novela El general en su laberinto desde un punto de vista diferente al habitual. Conocido como crítico de la historia oficial latinoamericana, García Márquez critica con sus obras tanto los hechos históricos como la metodología y la política histórica aplicada. La forma como el autor presenta La matanza de las bananeras en la novela Cien Años de Soledad, es el ejemplo más claro de sus críticas dirigidas tanto a hechos históricos como a la política histórica aplicada.
