This volume, edited by Paul Ilie, is intended to serve as a tool with which to break new ground in the study of the Spanish vanguard.

A rich man had a garden in which he had planted pear trees sprung from seeds taken from Eden. If eaten, these pears were said to have rejuvenating properties. Since he never had the opportunity to sample his pears -- because the fruit was always stolen from the bough -- he charged his children with finding the thief. But only his youngest will undertake the task and find the enchanted dove.
