BASIC MANUAL OF SCHOOL DIRECTION . To direct is an art and a science - To direct is an art and a science; it has much of prudential wisdom, but also of knowledge, acquired by means of study and reflective experience and learning together with valuable principles. Only one way of directing does not exist, but neither does it serve to do it anyhow. The director, in whichever post one holds, should feel the full responsibility of the educational institution in which one is, should find one’s personal style and know how to exercise it in the place one occupies in each moment, respecting and adapting oneself to the style of the rest of the team of which one forms part of. A director may not always advance in the hierarchical scale, but should always grow within; to direct oneself to others will allow one to win in humanity.
