El objetivo central de este libro es mostrar la organizacin social indgena y el cambio lingstico ocurrido aproximadamente entre 1450 y 1675 en la regin de Cuauhnhuac; esto permite, a la vez, arrojar luz sobre la continuidad y la vitalidad de la cultura nhuatl en esta regin localizada del sur del Valle de Mxico. Los protagonistas son los indgenas de distintas etnias y culturas, y sus descendientes que habitaron la zona de Cuernavaca. No es un recuento lineal ni cronolgico, sino la descripcin de algunas transformaciones sociales y lingsticas ocurridas en este periodo vistas a partir de la perspectiva de los hablantes del nhuatl o mexicano. El libro cuenta con preciosas ilustraciones. / The central purpose of this book is to show the social organization of the indigenous and the linguistic change which occurred between 1450 and 1675 in the Cuauhnhuac region, this will allow to shed light on the continuity and vitality of the Nahuatl culture in a localized region of the south of the Mexican valley. The main characters are the indigenous of various ethnic groups and cultures and their descendants living in Cuernavaca. It is not a linear or chronological tale, it is a description of some of the social and linguistic transformations which took place in this period but seen from the perspective of the Nahuatl or Mexican speaking people. Additionally the book is beautifully illustrated.
